AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT - 30TH ANNIVERSARY

ASK: Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and raising general awareness about disabilities.

INSIGHT: This was a major milestone in the world of inclusivity and we wanted to celebrate the best way we know how, including NWSRA participants, supporters, community members, and staff.

STRATEGY: Create an Art content that participants and their family members can participate in, along with sharing general information and history about the ADA and what was able to be accomplished in 30 years.

WORK: Social Media plan consisted of 3 posts a week. Utilizing the hashtags put into place #ADA30, and #ThanksToTheADA to gain more exposure on posts, and reach more than the current audience.

OUTCOME: This plan was a huge success. 10 submissions for the Art Content came though, and a winner was picked to share on social media, and was given a free program of their choosing. The Instagram social media efforts gained coverage from PBS American Portrait (View the video on PBS) and asked the executive director to create a video for their page in celebration. The social efforts also gained coverage from The National Parks and Recreation Association (View the article on NPRA).
